The 2024 Presidential Election

First, let’s assume Trump is cleared of all wrongdoing, and is allowed to run for president:

If this is the case, I believe at this time that he will win the Republican nomination. He is currently carrying over 50 percent of the votes currently. The only way I could see this changing is if new information comes out that is extremely damaging to him. I also believe Vivek Ramaswamy is ultimately setting himself up to be Trump’s Vice President. He has been good in front of the press, and has been solid in both of the debates so far. I don’t think he will win this election, but he could be setting himself up well for future elections.

As of now, Trump’s main competition is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The Governor is going to have to make significant strides to come close to coming anywhere near Trump, though. I think former Ambassador Nikki Haley is setting herself up to be his vice president, should he get the chance to earn the Republican nomination.

There are lots of opinions on what is going to happen with the 2024 election. Will Biden be re-elected? Will Trump be re-elected? Will Trump even be allowed to run? While I am in no way an expert on the subject, as someone who will be voting in this election, here are my predictions for it.

Obviously, Donald Trump is one of the clear favorites to be the Republican nominee, but will he even have the chance to run? Trump is facing four criminal indictments across multiple states in reference to the 2020 election, and the events of January 6, 2021. I’m going to segment this article into two parts, because there is just no way to know what will happen with these indictments.

Current GOP Pools

With all of that being said, what would happen if Donald Trump is arrested, and not allowed to run for the Presidency?
The obvious next candidate is Ron DeSantis. He would ramp up his campaign a lot, but it would be interesting to see if he would win. The votes that Trump would have gotten would be dispersed between the other candidates, and a lot of Trump fans do not like DeSantis. With this in mind, I think Ramaswamy would get a big bump in votes, along with Nikki Haley. It seems like those two candidates are having to fight for that third position as it is, and this would scale to new heights in the absence of Trump.

This would be a crazy twist in the story of this election, which has already shown to be a memorable election, and we are still over a year away from the actual event.
